Repent of an unbiblical view of repentance!

Acts 2:38 has been the subject of much debate for many years. Peter’s phrase, “Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins” seems to provide a two step shuffle required for salvation. But is it that or have we just misunderstood what he was talking about?

I just listened to one of the best sermons I’ve ever heard on the subject from Scott Hamilton (one of the teaching pastors at my home church Northern Hills Christian Church) and Jason Lamb (of Dare 2 Share.) This sermon is powerful, clear and theologically provacative. If you’ve ever wondered what the word “repent” really means or whether or not baptism is required for salvation you’ve got to check this sermon out.

You can listen to it here. It’s the January 23,2011 sermon. I’d love to hear your comments on it!
