I just finished a two sermon stint at Creation West. What a great event! Pastor Harry does an excellent job coordinating power house Christian bands and preachers who get to actually deliver the Word of God in between the bands.
Unlike many other Christian music festivals Creation puts a premium on preaching. Nobody is breaking down the drum sets or doing sound checks while the Word of God is being communicated.
I had the privilege of delivering two sermons from the main stage. The first was my “Rebels, Posers and Losers” talk (David and Goliath) and one called “Fanatics for the cross” (based on 1 Corinthians 1:10-18.) The rebels, posers and losers definitely went better than the fanatics one. I guess every sermon can’t be a homerun. Sometimes you have to settle for a base hit That’s what I’ve been told anyway. I don’t know if I buy it.
Anyway, I gave the folks out at Creation the good old “48 Hour Challenge”. The clock starts ticking tonight when they get back home. How many of them will tell that one friend the good news of Jesus in the next two days? Pray for them to share Jesus boldly and wisely with their friends.
See you “losers” later.
