One of the perks of working at Dare 2 Share is a weekly chapel service that we all enjoy together. We gather pray, sing, hear encouraging stories and then spend some time in the Word of God.
Right now we are in the middle of a mini-series on the greatest miracles of the Bible. This week I preached a sermon on the incarnation of Christ entitled, “Mary, Mary, quite…controversial.” This message is on the vital importance of the doctrine of the incarnation of Christ. Sound like a boring topic? It’s not! Without this powerful reality there could be no substitutionary atonement, no meaningful resurrection and no personal salvation from sin.
I think doctrines like the incarnation of Christ are under attack today more than ever before… sometimes from the corners of society that we would never expect (i.e. the church!) But we must lovingly, gently, courageously fight for the purity of this blessed truth.
Do you love Jesus this Christmas season? If so defend his immaculate conception (more on that in the podcast) against all who would fight against it. If so then be like Mary and purify your soul for the ultimate gift, the gift of Jesus Christ. If so then share this message of the Word made flesh, Immanuel, God among us, to all who will listen.
Merry Christmas my friends!
