Sleepless in Seattle

It’s not just a cliche’.

It’s more than a chick flick.

It was the reality last night.

I couldn’t fall asleep. I’m so excited to be doing a conference this weekend in Seattle. We are holding it at a great church (Overlake Christian Church) that holds up to 5,000. By God’s grace we will be approaching full capacity tonight!

But its not just that we expect a close-to-full-house our second year into Washington that gets me pumped. Its the teenagers here that get me excited. There’s something about these teenagers that is a little more low key, a little more edgy and a little more real.

Maybe its because the Northwest portion of the US is pretty unchurched. This results is more of a blank slate when it comes to spirituality (rather than “I’ve heard it all, been to all the camps, blah, blah, blah”) It’s easier to write on a slate that doesn’t have “I love Jesus how ’bout you” religious slogans plastered all over it.

Pray for us as we seek to take the open canvases of the minds and hearts of these teenagers and paint a beautiful picture of Jesus, Judgment Day, the inerrancy of Scripture, the good news of the gospel, the power of loving apologetics and the Great Commission this weekend.

Pray for me to get some sleep while I’m here in Seattle.
