“Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.” Joshua 3:12,13
The water is high and the current is fast. Many are wondering if we’ll make it past. But our great God is one of promises kept, Without flinching at all we’ll take the first step.
By his grace we’ll choose holy lives, And walk in the strength that only God can provide. We’ll ready ourselves by faith and by deed, And work till our lives match up with our creed.
For there’s an army of darkness on the other side, A legion of demons screaming out lies, Calling out taunts for they want us to fail, But through our great King we shall prevail.
We’ll take the first step because we’re not alone, A time-tested truth that all of us know. God is the one who made this great river, And from it’s fast moving current only he can deliver.
He can part every fear that each of us face, As he parts the deep water by his power and grace. Not only will he continue to strengthen our trust But with our first step he’ll turn the mud into dust.
